The NEW Waltron 9096 Degas Cation Conductivity Analyzer delivers accurate measurement of specific, cation, and degassed cation conductivity with unprecedented degassing efficiency of over 94% in under 90 seconds.
During the start up of a thermal power plant, the purity of the generated steam determines whether it can be sent to the steam turbine or if it has to be bypassed to the condenser. Traditionally “Cation Conductivity” instruments are used to analyze steam quality, but in addition to measuring harmful ionic compounds (e.g. Chlorides), they also include CO2, which is not significantly harmful to the steam turbine.
The Waltron 9096 Degas Cation Conductivity Analyzer is based on a patent-pending “Dynamic System”, meaning it does not use a reboiler or require any supplemental inert gases.
This instrument uses ambient air forced against the flow of the water sample to achieve its high degassing efficiency, resulting in significantly faster indications than any other comparable systems available.
Based on even the most conservative assumptions, the cost savings on each start-up cycle between the Waltron dynamic system and the fastest reboiler system is significant. Additional benefits are better energy efficiency and reduced emissions of heat and exhaust.
